I have been actively and continuously involved as a volunteer attorney for the Chrysalis Center for Women from 1986 to the
present. Chrysalis provides a wide variety
of services to Twin Cities women and their
families. Chrysalis offices are located in
  Minneapolis and St. Paul. Additionally,
Chrysalis offers a number of services in community locations throughout the metro
area. Chrysalis offers services in the areas of mental health, chemical dependency, community education, support groups, women's legal issues, parenting and family education, resource referral and supportive counseling. Specifically, I participate in the Chrysalis LAW program. This program offers education, advocacy, and advice related to legal issues which affect women's lives. Typical client issues include uncoupling, divorce, domestic abuse, domestic partnerships, child custody and visitation, paternity, and sexual harassment.

I have served as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association
from 1988 to the present. I am called upon to act as a neutral arbitrator for purposes of resolving no-fault automobile benefit disputes.

  • I also perform regular and consistent pro bono legal work for needy individuals and have done so from 1980 to the present.
  • Community activities have also included serving as President of the Hamline University School of Law Alumni Association from 1989 to 1990, volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in the early 1990s, volunteer for the Minnesota Special Olympics from 1987 to 1991, Alumni Spokesperson, Dean Selection Committee, Hamline University School of Law from 1989 to 1990, and volunteer attorney for the Minnesota State Bar Association "Law Day" in the late 1980s.
  • I mentor new attorneys
